Tired of gels in fiddly packets, full of artificial flavours that are hard to digest? This gel mixture is the bomb – all natural ingredients, a breeze to whip up, and makes the equivalent of 6 gels (all at 30g carbs each).

  1. Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until mixed.
  2. Scrape down side, add water if needed and mix again (make sure it is very well mixed so that the bits of date can flow through the gel flask lid)
  3. Add enough water until you get a consistency you like and is easy to squeeze out of a gel flask.
  4. Pour the whole mixture into one gel flask for a big day of training; or halve the mixture into two gel flasks and freeze one for another day.
Recipe Notes

Play around with the salt levels in this mix, you can increase it if you are a heavy salt sweater and don’t mind the taste in the gel.
